Hello, your apathetic and lazy neighborhood administrator here, reminding you of the reporting system.
If you see something against the rules and/or is blatantly illegal, you should report it. A while back I wrote up a FAQ entry about how to use it, so if you are unfamiliar with how it works, you should read it. Click the 'FAQ' link at the top of this page for more information.
Reporting posts helps us get to offending content faster. However, it is not intended for reporting copyright infringments which are not on the DNP list. For unlisted infringements, please email legal@fapchan.org.

I've added a rapidshare/megaupload/whatever indexer which scrapes posts for links.

Hi, after a week or so of not caring, I've put a small amount of effort in to revert to a very old backup.

Now then, I've also written a script to back up fapchan on a weekly basis, so even if another exploit is found, it shouldn't affect us too much. Don't you just love script kiddies?

In an effort to combat spam, I've disabled the creation of clickable links on the boards. You will now have to copy and paste a link into your URL bar in order to visit external links.

Furthermore, users should be discouraged from opening links which are cloaked URLs or otherwise look suspicious, as I can guarantee that the person who posted them will be making money or otherwise getting something from your clicks/downloads. This in and of itself is not a bad thing, however this usually leads to these sort of links entirely populating the boards, which is a bad thing.

Our earnings from ads have significantly decreased as of late, and may not be enough to cover our bills in the future.
If you have scripts blocked from pages.etology.com, please unblock them, as ads are our only way of staying alive.

If you wish to apply, send me an email with a short message as to why you should be a mod, as well as your times of availability to mod, and what boards you primarily browse/wish to mod.

Requirements: Be able to use IRC, as it is our primary conversation medium.

Mod apps are now CLOSED. all further emails will be ignored. Respsonses will be emailed shortly.

And by shortly I mean you may get an email months from now asking if you still want to mod.
